Today I am going to be answering some fun questions pertaining to Christmas time!
1. What is your favorite Christmas film?
It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite film to watch around Christmas time for sentimental purposes. It is tradition in my family to watch this film on Christmas Eve this year to remind ourselves how good we’ve actually got it. Elf is my favorite classic Christmas film, and While You Were Sleeping is my favorite unconventional Christmas film.
2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
YES! White Christmases are more magical than anyone could portray on a television screen. They don’t happen as often as I wish they did in Ohio, but I’m definitely crossing my fingers that we get one this year!
3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Well, this year is a little different. I have been extremely blessed to have been able to spend two Christmases with two sides of the family in Ohio [where I’m from and currently reside] for my whole life up until this point. It was tradition to spend the night at my Nan’s house on Christmas eve with my cousins, and we’ve kept this tradition each year until this past one. Life has since changed and circumstances have surfaced to make the yearly tradition unattainable from now on. So, each year from this point forward will be on a “play it by ear” and “depends on what life looks like that year” basis.
4. What is your favorite Christmas song?
The thing about me is that #1: I don’t necessarily like Christmas songs and #2: It’s nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite of ANYTHING due to my inability to make decisions and steady flow of changing my mind. So, this answer depends on a multitude of attributes. However, my CURRENT favorite Christmas tune is Pale Waves cover of Last Christmas.
5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Not traditionally, no. If we decide to celebrate Christmas on Christmas eve [which has never actually happened before] then we would.
6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Blitzen, Donner, Rudolph…aaaaand that’s all I can remember without Google searching. How many are there again?
7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
None…I don’t really have any at the moment🤓
8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We’ve always had fake Christmas trees, but my heart longs for a real one in the future.
9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
Pumpkin Rolls and any kind of Cheesecake!
10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Who doesn’t like receiving gifts better? Honestly I love both. I love finding things that remind me of those I buy the gifts for and seeing how they react, but I also love receiving the gifts to see what made them think of me. The only thing I dislike about the receiving end - OPENING them in front of everyone. It is definitely a good melting pot of embarrassment and awkwardness but hey, those two words define the Holiday season, ami’right?
11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
That’s a TOUGH question. I loved my Apple Watch last year, but my favorite childhood gift would have to be the piano keyboard my parents bought for the family when I was younger. That keyboard got me through some tough times.
12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I’d love to visit anywhere in Europe. I know that’s an insane amount of cities to cover, but hey, it all intrigues me and I’ve never been so I don’t have a preference. However, realistically, I would just want to be wherever my family is celebrating.
13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I like to think I’m decent at present-wrapping. The simpler the better I always tell myself - aka plain brown paper and festive twine.
14. Most memorable Holiday moment?
Any moment I got to spend with my cousin Marlee. She’s my built-in best friend for life who lives in another state. I rarely get to see her so when we’re together, every moment is spent with laughter and memory-making.
15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?
Wait. What truth about Santa?
16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I like to stick with a theme for the year rather than set standard goals for myself. This year’s word was “MORE.” I wanted to do more than I ever had with everything I came into contact with. Although next year I have set some goals on top of my word of the year that I will stick to for 2019.
17. What makes the holidays special for you?
Family. Every moment spent with my family is a gift, and each time is special to me.
