Loving Yourself // Letting Yourself Love

Many people are infatuated with the idea of being in love, sometimes so badly that they mistake it for love itself. Other people can't seem to feel love toward someone else at all because there's something blocking them from doing so. There are many reasons why someone could be hesitant when attempting at a relationship; could be a gut feeling of doubt, maybe trust issues from past mistakes, or even one's own insecurities and self-loathing. Yes, many times the old phrase "it's not you, it's me" actually means what it implies. Although this phrase and its many different wordings is considered a cliché, I do feel that it is, in some cases, the only way to really explain to others that in fact they are not the issue in the relationship.

Of course I believe that if you love someone you should hold onto them and fight for them. However, recently I've been burdened with the thought: when you are not right with your own self, and you are not content on your own, how could you take care and love someone else?

This seems selfish, right? Wrong.

For you to love another person, means you must put them first. Their needs above your own. But if you are not stable, if you do not love who you are, if you are not comfortable with who you are, and if you are not ready to take on the responsibilities of a healthy relationship, you should not be seeking for one. The reason I say this, is because when you are not confident in who you are and in WHOS you are, you will subconsciously begin to place your worth, your emotions, and your entire world into the hands of man (humans...not just men, women too).

Man- who can not hold your life up for you. Man- who will never live up to your expectations. Man- who will not fill the hole in your heart. Man- who will never fail to let you down one way or another.

When you recognize who's you are, and when you begin to place your world in the hand of God, HE will hold your life up for you. HE will EXCEED your expectations because He will give you the desires of your heart. HE will fill the hole in your heart, and OVERFLOW your life with His presence. HE will never let you down, AND (bonus) you will never let HIM down.

Once you've established your ground with the Father, and you are content with your life and confident in who you are, and once you trust God with your life and your relationships...He will provide for you.

Someone has been praying for God to bring you to them. Never doubt yourself or deny that God has someone waiting for you. I can almost guarantee you that He can't wait to bring you two together. Man will always disappoint you, because we are only human and everyone makes mistakes. God is the only One who can make you whole and completely filled with joy. He never changes and He will never leave your side.

He has someone for you, all you have to do is listen as He brings you two together.
