June Boxycharm 2018 // Review

IMG_0370.jpg

As you may have noticed from my recent posts, I have been on a subscription box high recently, and I know I am super late to the game in posting my review for the June Boxycharm box (on account of it already being July and all), BUT I am super excited to share my thoughts with you. The whole reason I got this box in the first place was because I heard the Alamar palette would be featured. I was actually about to purchase this palette from the Alamar Cosmetics website and thought "why not just get it for cheaper through Boxycharm ($21 for the box vs $28 for just the palette) AND MORE THINGS WITH IT?!"

So here I am, with another beauty box review. I have a short intro unboxing video above this text if you're interested. But without any further statements...let's jump right into this!

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream | $10

Everyone says that it smells incredible, with which I'd have to agree. HOWEVER, If you're sensitive to extremely pungent floral-y scents then I would not recommend this for you. I'm sensitive to floral smells, so it bothered me a little bit, not enough to make me feel sick, but it definitely was on the verge of making me a bit queezy. Don't get me wrong though, the scent is fresh, clean, and absolutely wonderful, but it's almost like it's TOO much. It almost smells like a very strong floral perfume, ya dig? Anyway, I love the packaging and the consistency and literally everything about it except that the smell is a little too much for me. Hope this helps my gals who are also sensitive to certain smells!

Jonteblu Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil | $5 value

This liner was pretty dry and not necessarily pigmented. It kind of tugged at my lash-line and was a little hard to apply. If you're just starting out with makeup, this would be a great starter, but for those of us who know better should probably steer clear of this one! I was really pulling for this eyeliner, but it wasn't cutting it for me. I do have to give it credit for only being $5.

Luxie 3 Piece Flawless Complexion Set | $42 value

I'm going to be honest here and say I absolutely love Luxie brushes and was super excited to receive them in this month's box, but in this particular set, they were literally all the same size and didn't really help me with anything except for highlighting my face. I've played around a little bit with them and I have come to the conclusion that they're too flimsy for loose powder, too small for blush or bronzer, and the only thing I found I could apply with these brushes was my highlight (which worked BEAUTIFULLY once I made up my mind).

Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick | $21 value

I absolutely adore Ofra, and I love that Boxycharm incorporates this beautiful brand into their boxes. It smells like vanilla goodness and applies like a dream. I am extremely fair-skinned with darker features, and this shade is perfect when I want to accentuate my features. I would highly recommend you get this shade in Verona, I honestly didn't know I needed it in my collection until I received it. Now I don't know how I lived without it!

Battington Monroe Silk Lashes | $28 value

I don't wear lashes very often, and I was a little turned off by getting them at first honestly. BUT if I'm going to have any set of lashes, I'm thankful these were in the box. I love these! The packaging is cute and secure, you can wear these more than once if you don't put a ton of glue on it, and they're so effortlessly beautiful looking.

Alamar Reina Del Caribe Palette | $28 value

This. Palette. Is. WONDERFUL. Like honestly the color selection is amazing, the formula is so blendable and easy to apply, and it's so pigmented. I think everyone was super stoked when they found out this palette would be in this month's box...I know I was! 10/10 YES! I would highly recommend you pick up this palette, especially for fun summer looks.
