It’s funny how creating good little habits in the morning can affect the course of your entire day.
I have come to find that breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day | When you eat a good, healthy breakfast, it energizes you and sets the bar high for the rest of the meals you make during that day in particular. Rather than starting the morning with a pastry, if you start your day by eating a whole and nutritious meal, you subconsciously want to continue eating that way and it trains your tastebuds to crave healthy foods.
It’s all in your head | When you make your bed and accomplish small household tasks, you kickstart your mind to get into “work mode” and you’re ready to begin accomplishing tasks at your real job. For me, I work at home and sometimes it’s easy to get distracted by household projects and other tasks on my mind, so having a successful morning makes me feel prepared to get myself together and knock out work tasks as well.
This helps focus your scattered mind | In my experience, reading trains your mind to focus on one thing at a time and to think more deeply about what you’re working on. When you start your day reading, right when you wake up, it’s focusing your mind on one task and calming you down while simultaneously waking you up and making you more alert for the day ahead.
If you’re stuck in a rut, I hope you try these little things each morning and see how it can drastically change the way you live your life.
