4th of July // Let's Party Like It's 1776

Happy 4th of July! I hope all of you are having a wonderful Independence Day so far. Today is going to be a good one. It's supposed to be SCORCHING hot, but there is going to be a parade, a festival and fireworks happening near my neighborhood and I'm so excited to be able to be part of it to celebrate. This year, my word concept I've been focusing on is "more," which includes saying YES to more things, and doing MORE than just sitting at home wishing I wasn't such a social-anxiety-trapped introvert. So here I am, having some friends over for a bonfire, s'mores, sparklers, and all the city festivities available to us. The possibilities are endless when you go with the flow.

This holiday brings all the nostalgia. It's the holiday we would all pack up our lawn chairs and head to my great grandpa Sam's house to watch fireworks, eat homemade peanut butter cookies, share laughs and spend time together. He has recently gone to be with Jesus, but I will never forget those special moments with him. We don't have many traditions, but that was one of the few. I hope the fireworks look beautiful from Heaven. This year, we're all doing our own things, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm excited to roam the street, eating festival food and watching the beautiful fireworks light up the sky!🎆

I encourage you to do something fun this year for the 4th, after all, we are celebrating freedom. What are YOUR plans today? Comment below, I'd love to hear what you're up to!
