Fly, Girl, FLY // New Year, Embrace You

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and I pray you feel as refreshed and ready to head back into real life as I do. I don’t know about you, but my 2018 was one for the books. It was one of the best years I have ever had in my life and I touched on it a little bit in my New Years Tag post.

My “focus word of the year” last year was “more.” This word allowed me the freedom to say “yes” to things I would never have said yes to before. New opportunities, new challenges, new EVERYTHING opened up when I declared “More” over my life in 2018. I lived my life chasing after myself and who I wanted to be. I found myself as a result. 2018 has been a year for growth and facing myself. I decided I’m not hiding who I am anymore, and that I was going to live confidently and see where it takes me. I like to think that 2018 ultimately prepared me for my “word(s) of the year” for 2019 without my knowledge of it. God’s cool like that.

Last year I decided to run toward more, this year I’m deciding to soar. My phrase for this year is “Fly, Girl, FLY” and this phrase does not stop at my life. I’m extending this phrase to YOU, and speaking it into YOUR life as we walk through this transitional season toward living your life confidently and unapologetically together.

In light of the catchy “New Year, New Me” bandwagon that’s slowly dying off, I would like to change it up a little bit. A new year does not necessarily mean that everything in your life resets. It simply restarts the calendar. The new year tends to be an obvious mental restart for everyone, but that doesn’t mean the “you” you were before has to change completely. Don’t take your baggage, burdens, shame, or anything causing you to feel “less than” into this new year. It’s time to EMBRACE “YOU.” Which is why “Fly, Girl, FLY” fits so perfectly with the tagline “New Year, Embrace YOU.”

If we head into 2019 with this mentality, nothing can stop you. It’s just as important as eating a healthy breakfast everyday, if you start your DAY out right, it sets your habits for the entire day. If you start you YEAR out right, it sets your habits for the entire year.
