Blogmas 2018 | Day 19 | New Years Tag

1. If you could look back on one memory from last year that you wish you could relive, what would it be?

Our family vacation over the summer. That was the last time I saw my dad’s side of the family (who we don’t get to see often) and it was such a special time before the craziness of life swept us all off our feet and flipped our world upside down.

2. What was one new years resolution that you accomplished?

If you want to read about my New Years word and resolutions I wrote an entire blog post about it on January 1st. Read it here⤵

Here was my list:

More time set aside to read for pleasure | I listened to audiobooks this year.

More time set aside to spend with God | Podcasts, worship music, and my favorite devotional book: New Morning Mercies.

More giving back, donating and volunteer time

More dreaming

Learn more words | broaden my vocabulary | This came naturally with reading more often and listening to podcasts.

Writing more music | my goal is to fully finish one song this year | I HAVE been writing more, but I didn’t finish a full song which was my resolution.

More adventures | saying YES to fun things | I did a whole lot of things this year that I never would have done in the past. Spontaneous trip to Chicago? Sure. Two twenty one pilots shows in two different states within two days? Sure. Going to every local concert my best friend Brittany and I can find? You bet.

3. 3 words to describe last year?

Excitement, Maturity, Blessing.

4. Best music related creation/inspiration last year by an artist in your opinion?

SO. MUCH. GOOD. MUSIC. THIS. YEAR. This is a really tough question. I’m going to say The 1975’s A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships album, Pale Waves My Mind Makes Noises album, and Vance Joy Nation of Two album. They’re all so good I couldn’t narrow this list down to just one.

5. Something your looking forward to this coming year?

New, exciting things happening on Infinite Brevity (wink wink). The continuous and active pursuit of my dreams which are constantly being molded by my circumstances.

6. What did last year teach you?

2018 taught me what selfless, unconditional love actually means, I learned more about adult life than ever, and it taught me that change is okay, in fact, change is GOOD.

7. What was your most worn clothing item of last year?

My trusty black jeans have never done me wrong.

8. If you had to sum up your year in one word, what would it be?

9. What are you hoping for more of this coming year?

More connections, more joy, more excitement, more adventure, increased finances, and more time with family than I think I might have.

10. What are you hoping for less of this coming year?

Less depressive states. I go through phases and they can get pretty dark and serious. I’d like less of that forever.

11. Best book you read last year?

I didn’t read a whole lot, but I really loved listening to “The Book of Essie” on audible. 10/10 would recommend you go pick this one up!

12. What is your New Year’s resolution for the upcoming year?

I’m still praying and contemplating the answer to this question. This is to be determined and I will share this in an upcoming post.

Comment below your New Years resolution for 2019 (if you have one yet)! I’d love to see what you plan on accomplishing in the coming year and see how you blossom through it.
